A JAM COCKTAIL – WHATEVER NEXT?
AND HERE IS SOMETHING YOU CAN TRY AT HOME
I think I was lured unsuspectingly into the Jam Tree.
It was about a month ago after my younger daughter Olivia had just run her first half marathon. I was so impressed with her achievement and I suggested she deserved a celebratory drink and bite to eat for lunch. That is when she said we could pop in to the Jam Tree.
The Jam Tree is in the heart of Clapham Old Town and there is another Jam Tree bar in Chelsea.
It is populated by grads and twenty somethings. I am not in that league at all, but I thought I could cope.
Little did I know that she was going to tempt me into one of the most lively and unusual bars offering amongst others things ……
JAM COCKTAILS
The Jam Tree has a full bar and light meals and a full restaurant menu.
The cocktail menu is seriously worth checking out, however, and with some serious study could lead to some experimentation at home. Why not??
Then I remembered Jackie Kaines mention of tarragon and vodka in a comment about on my herbs post last year and a whole new world opened up.
On my next visit to the Jam Tree, I was better prepared and enjoyed a WHAM BAM THANK YOU JAM Cocktail put together and shaken by the bartender by the name of Magic.
Well now, if you do not live in London or you think you are not up to cavorting with twenty and thirty somethings then…
THIS IS SOMETHING YOU CAN TRY AT HOME
WHAM BAM THANK YOU JAM
25ml Passoa (passionfruit liqueur)
25ml Coriel (Vanilla Vodka)
20ml lemon and lime juice
1 large spoon of Raspberry Jam
10ml Sugar Syrop
Popping Candy on top
In addition to their range of unusual cocktails the Jam Tree Team run various events and the resident cocktail experts also offer masterclasses to groups of ten to learn the tricks of the trade to make your own cocktails – sounds like a party.
